Utterly mind-blowing stuff from some new heroes of mine. Joe Rogan presents with his usual witticism and open-minded approach to new information.
Graham is a guy who catches a lot of flack from the archaeological community---but honestly WTF, mates? This whole science is about discovering new stuff to modify our view of history, because new shit gets dug up every day. What fun is it if all we do is stick to existing models and look for stuff to bolster that worldview while shouting down new views that challenge our perspective?
From my comment on the matter:
This is my first foray into the teachings of Graham Hancock. Absolutely mind-blowing stuff. I'm really saddened by the rep he gets--anyone starting with his wikipedia page is gonna have the impression of an unconventional "pseudoarchaeologist" but damn. Everyone should check this stuff out. Awesome thoughts for the conspiracy-minded, and challenging stuff for the world of Historians out there.
My suggestion: move on to [Joe Rogan Experience] #725 next if you haven't already. Also google things like "yonaguni," "Piri Reis map," and "Baalbek megalith" as you go because seeing the images really sets off the little WTF-lightbulbs in your head. I fucking love this shit.
Okay, say what you will but please take a minute to enjoy this morsel of mindfood from Graham Hancock, a pioneer in archaeology, and a real-life Indiana Jones.
